The stories families miss most are rarely the official milestones. They are the kitchen-table memories, familiar expressions, hard-earned lessons, and small details that only one person can tell correctly.

What is a legacy video interview?

A legacy video interview is a professionally recorded conversation centered on one person's life. Instead of handing someone a list of questions and asking them to perform for a camera, we prepare thoughtful prompts, create a comfortable setting, and guide the conversation at an unhurried pace.

The result can remain a carefully edited interview or become a cinematic family documentary that includes photographs, home movies, music, titles, and chapters. Every project is shaped around the person's natural voice rather than a generic template.

A meaningful gift for parents and grandparents

Most families begin because a birthday, anniversary, retirement, holiday, reunion, or health change makes the timing feel important. Others begin simply because they want to celebrate someone while that person can participate fully in the experience.

  • Adult children preserving a parent's stories and voice
  • Grandchildren honoring a grandparent or family elder
  • Individuals recording their own life story as a gift
  • Families combining several generations in one documentary
  • Relatives organizing photographs and home movies into a lasting archive

A calm, guided process from conversation to finished film

1. Planning

We begin with a conversation about the person, the family, the stories that matter, and anything that should remain private. Siblings and relatives can contribute questions, photographs, and memories from anywhere.

2. Recording

The interview is filmed in a familiar, comfortable location whenever possible. Equipment stays quiet and unobtrusive so attention remains on the conversation.

3. Editing and family review

We organize the strongest stories, clean the audio, shape the pacing, and—depending on the selected experience—weave in photographs, home movies, music, and titles. The family reviews the project before final delivery.

Your family keeps the film and the files

Your finished film is not held hostage by a subscription. Families receive downloadable master files and an organized archive of the selected media. A private viewing page makes the story convenient to watch and share, but it is never the only copy.

Current experiences begin at $895 for a guided, professionally edited conversation. Signature legacy films begin at $1,795, and multi-generational family documentaries begin at $3,950. See the full legacy film packages and pricing.

Serving families across Minneapolis–Saint Paul and Minnesota

Legacy in Full is based in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Local filming is available throughout the Twin Cities metro, including Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Brooklyn Center, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Minnetonka, Edina, Bloomington, and surrounding communities.

Projects elsewhere in Minnesota are available by quote. Family members do not need to live nearby: planning calls, question contributions, media collection, and additional recorded messages can be coordinated remotely.

Common questions about Minnesota legacy films

Does my parent need to prepare a script?

No. A few photographs, names, or memory prompts are enough. We guide the interview so the stories feel conversational rather than rehearsed.

Can several family members participate?

Yes. Family members can contribute prompts or appear in a multi-generational project. Relatives outside Minnesota can participate remotely.

What if the person is uncomfortable on camera?

That is common. We use a small footprint, begin with easy memories, and let the person settle into the conversation. Audio-focused and lightly filmed approaches are also available.

Can old photographs and home movies be included?

Yes. Signature films and family documentaries can incorporate photographs, letters, home movies, and other meaningful materials. Restoration needs are reviewed before the project begins.
